When I was a kid we'd sometimes sell at car boot sales and it was always a fairly stressful experience. Driving into a tiny space. People trying to grab stuff out of the boot as soon as we opened it. People haggling over 20p.
When I saw that Little Nan's in Deptford was having a 'carless' car boot sale I thought that would at least eliminate one of the stresses. But then I didn't factor in the wind. And its effect on a clothing rail.
We pretty much spent all our takings on alcoholic slushies and fish finger sandwiches, slowly getting tipsy and hyper on sugar.
Thanks to our lovely pitch neighbours who were advertising Deptford Pride and didn't judge us for being unable to control our shop displays.
