I love fireworks. When I was a kid we would always go to the local display and 'ooh' and 'aah' at the colours and sparkliness while a lopsided Guy dressed in clothes stolen from our dads burnt on a huge fire.
My friend Sarah lives in a flat which looks over a pretty area of water near a park. She invited me round for dinner because being fireworks night we would have a clear view of the display from her balcony. I didn't realise until they started just how spectacular this would be and how much it would feel like our own special show!
